Nara Yoshitomo: The Little Little House in the Blue Woods

Sep 22nd, 2012 - Jan 14th, 2013

The Towada Art Center will hold a solo exhibition by Nara Yoshitomo, an internationally acclaimed artist from Aomori Prefecture.

In his work, Nara depicts children with defiant attitudes or anxious eyes. He also produces animals which look lonely yet somehow humorous. His new exhibition, The Little Little House in the Blue Woods, contains early and recent paintings, drawings and three-dimensional works. It introduces Nara’s activities on a full and comprehensive scale. We hope you experience a miraculous encounter with Nara’s work in his hometown.

The Little Art Club in the Blue Woods

We are recruiting members for ‘The Little Art Club in the Blue Woods’. Working with Nara Yoshimoto (manager), we will produce artworks by lodging together twice in Towada city. We will hold an exhibition on the city streets from December 15 (Sat), 2012, to January 14 (Mon), 2013. There will be an examination to join the art club.
