About Arts Cube Oirase

The Oirase Keiryu Hotel cooperates with Arts Towada by participating in the Arts Cube Project, an ecomuseum project that aims to spread the work of the Towada Art Center’s cube-shaped exhibition rooms around the Towada-Oirase area.

Located inside the hotel, Art Cube Oirase brings an additional exhibition of contemporary art from the museum into the heart of Oirase.

Current Exhibition

Kuniya Oyamada mark the boundary
April 15, 2017 – March 31, 2018

After graduating from university, Oyamada boarded a passenger ship and set out to photograph famous tourist spots around the world, circumnavigating the globe a total of five times. mark the boundary presents photographs from his PLANET series, which disappears the scenery that stands above the horizon, showing only the surface of the earth.

*On display to visitors from 11:30 to 14:00.
*Hotel guests can view the exhibition at any time.
*Photographs on display will change throughout the exhibition.

About the Artist
Born in Aomori Prefecture in 1976, Kuniya Oyamada graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 2000. He was received an honorable mention from Katsumi Omori in Canon’s 2011 New Cosmos of Photography project, was a Guardian Garden finalist in 2012, and his exhibition PLANET was held at the Aomori Contemporary Art Centre in 2014.
