Yakeyama Art Project

Sights of the Mountains

About the Project

Hachinohe-based artist Takuma Ikeda connects the Yakeyama mountains with the Towada Art Center through art, including many of his own works, against the backdrop of Yakeyama’s stunning autumn foliage.

Message from the Artist
I cut out intangible images and moments in time and express them using projectors and LCD screens. Sometimes the impressions we get from paintings and video reproductions feel almost tangible. Through visual expression, I would like to convey textures and images that give shape to the lingering vestiges of human activity in old buildings and tools.
