It has been six years since the Towada Art Center started connecting with “Sanbongikouta,” a traditional Bon Festival dance in the region. This year, we will invite Yoshihide Otomo and hold a large-scale festival where both the participating artists and the audience mingle together to play an arranged “Sanbogikouta.” We are also scheduled to play “Amachan-ondo.” Furthermore, we will set up a music club headed by Yoshihide Otomo. This club is free to join and is open to anyone, from children to the elderly. Let’s learn to dance and play music, enjoying the festival to the full!
Music club activity (tentative): June 21 (Sat), August 20 (Wed), August 21 (Thu), September 22 (Mon)
*Participating artists include: Yoshitomo Nara, Tohru Nakazaki, Hiroshi Fuji, and more.
