KONDO Tetsuo
Sitting alongside a shopping street are 22 pieces of rounded white street furniture. These are both benches to rest on, and vases or flowerbeds tended by the shopkeepers, and reflect Kondo’s hope that the street will bustle with people not only enjoy ing their shopping, but also each other’s company.

KONDO Tetsuo
Architect. Born 1975 in Ehime, Japan. Kondo graduated from Nagoya Institute of Technology in 1999. He worked with SEJIMA Kazuyo & Associates and SANAA from 1999 to 2006, and established Tetsuo Kondo Architects in 2006. He is currently a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of Science and Keio University. His projects include House with Gardens (Yokohama, Japan, 2007) and A Path in the Forest (Tallinn, Estonia, 2011).
