Embedded in the upstairs floor of a rundown building that formerly housed a bar is a gallery that echoes the architecture of the Towada Art Center: white walls and ceiling, large glass opening. From outside it is obvious how the original windows and floor have been unceremoniously excised, and a new space seemingly stuck on an old building. This work in which two things of different purpose and context coexist yet never mix highlights the features of both, while simultaneously throwing into relief the contrast and tension between them.
